This damp weather certainly settles into our joints. It creates expansion in our tissues, and changes the thickness of the fluid in our joints, and then with this usually comes stagnation of fluid and blood flow. So we get inflamed and have creaky, locked up joints.
Now, I will also touch on something interesting. In homeopathy we might even see arthritis as an old residual layer of Strep. Interesting right? How many of us have had strep in the past, taken antibiotics, and then later on start to experience unseemingly related symptoms?
If we know there could be a case of chronic strep we could consider trying the homeopathic remedy Streptococcin 12c. It may be harder to source this individual remedy, but DesBio makes a complex that contains it. The liquid drops is called STAP:Combination and the other called STAP:TAB is tablet form.
We know there are different types of Arthritic conditions. We have Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Infectious arthritis and Gout, of course. So sometimes arthritis can be an immune system issue, and sometimes it’s a chronic bad diet issue, and A LOT more often it is BOTH!
We want to keep our lymph moving if we know we are susceptible to arthritic flare-ups, so that the acids in our fluids and potentially the uric acid crystals that form won’t have an easy of a chance to settle in our joints. Movement, massage, dry brushing, sweating, etc.
My favorite herbal lymph formulas come from Dr. Morse’s product line. They’re so great.
And for Homeopathy our first line of defense can be one or more of these remedies:
- Rhus tox 30 or 200 + Symphytum 200 taken twice daily long-term.
- Bryonia 200 is another great one that is worse for movement, has the joint pain with painful swelling.
- Dulcamara 30 for joint pains from getting wet or when it rains.
- Ruta graveolens 30 for pain worse from movement, feeling of being bruised, sore, aching, worse in cold damp weather, better with warmth and rubbing.
I can tell you that I have mixed Rhus tox 200 with Bryonia 200 2-3 times a day when I experience achiness or creakiness in my hips and I improve soooo much with that in just the first day or two.
It’s ideal to take the remedies until the feeling goes away completely. If it doesn’t, then you may need to switch up remedies or change potency.
There are other remedies indicated for arthritic conditions, but I’ve given you suggestions of the ones that have worked so well for so many.
Of course, when we are in a flare-up we are NOT going to be consuming any alcohol, preferably no dairy during the flare and no fried or greasy foods.
How about Cortisone and Hyaluronic Acid injections?
What people need to know, is continued administration of cortisone shots will actually eat away at the cartilage eventually 😣 ending up contributing to the issue.
There are more and more doctors using Platelet Rich Plasma(PRP injections) to be able to use the body’s own healing properties, like stem cells etc. So this would definitely be a better option in general, but is more costly and insurance may not cover it.
Trigger finger does get worse in an arthritic flare up. It has to do with the tendon flexor and the sheath becoming inflamed.
Specifically try Ruta graveolens 200 for it. I would suggest twice per day for a whole week then back down to once per day for another week, then once every other day for another week and see how it feels and moves then.
Also, don’t do Hyaluronic acid injections either. I don’t like what I’m reading about its association with different types of cancer. Everything we put on and in the body including injections into the joints must be processed by the body.
